Themes and session formatsThe second stream will be educational and contribute to participants’ learning and skills development for advancing the HSR field. The focus of this stream will include one of the following themes.
ThemesTerminology, taxonomies, frameworks: Includes frameworks both for classifying health systems (or health systems constraints) and for classifying health systems research Methods of HRS and Knowledge Translation: Both innovative and tried-and-true methodologies for bringing the gaps between research, policy and implementation Measures used in HSR: State-of-the-art measures used in HSR, for example: financial protection; equity of health service utilization; quality or responsiveness Capacity building in HSR: Explores the breadth of different mechanism for building up capacities for Health Systems Research Multidisciplinary approaches: Drawing on methods used in other disciplines. For example, political science, engineering, management, and others
Master classes (appropriate for teaching/training in research methods with clear learning objectives) Workshops (skill-building exercises, group brainstorming and research agenda-setting) Round table discussions (appropriate for debates)
