The First Global Symposium on Health Systems Research: Science to accelerate universal health coverage is a four-day meeting, starting in the morning of Tuesday 16 November and finishing around midday on the Friday 19 November 2009. Over 1000 people are expected to attend the Symposium, including researchers, policy-makers, funders, and other stakeholders representing diverse constituencies.
The Welcome Reception will take place on Tuesday 16 November.

 

 

 

The Venue
The First Global Symposium on Health Systems Research will be held in Montreux Music and Convention Centre. Wheelchair access to the Centre is foreseen. For more information on the venue please visit the convention center website.

Languages
The official language of the conference is English however all plenary sessions will be interpreted into French as well. Many of the conference printed materials will be in both English and French. Submissions for the Young researchers Competition will be accepted both in French and English. If additional funding becomes available, plenary sessions will be translated into other languages.

Marketplace
The Marketplace is an on-going event throughout the Forum programme. It allows organizations to display their work, projects, publications, etc. More information and a market stall application form is available here

Information desk
An information desk will be available in the Conference Centre.

Special needs
Please let us know when you register if you have any special needs or requirements (access, diet etc.) that we should take into consideration.

Media Relations
A media corner will be available in the Conference Centre, which will include a press conference area and interview corner.

Internet
The Conference Centre as well as the town of Montreux and Vevey offers free access to Wi-Fi system. A limited number of computers will be made available to participants within the Conference Centre.
